No doubt about it! When Jerry Reed was “hot,” he was ”hot!”
The country music superstar and part-time actor (best known for his role in “Smokey & the Bandit”) spent the 1970s hotter than a firecracker, with hit after hit on Billboard's Country Chart—many of them crossing over to the Top 40.
The key to Jerry's success was his combination of catchy songs and a great sense of humor.
Today's “Greatest Hit of the '70s” was right in his wheelhouse.
In 1971, he released “When You're Hot, You're Hot,” a song about getting caught playing an illegal crap game...and that roll of the dice was a winner: #1 on the Country Charts in the US and Canada, and on the Top 40 at #9 in the US and #4 in Canada.
“When You're Hot, You're Hot:” a “Great (and funny) Song of the '70s!”
