"We're Ready," Boston's last Top 10 hit, is most likely not the first Boston title that comes to mind, but it's a Great Song of the '80s nonetheless.
The song was released from their album "Third Stage" in late 1986, and garnered immediate positive reviews. One critic said, "It works on all cylinders." Another called it, "Good, catchy Pop fun." Cashbox Magazine covered it all by praising "the "layered guitars, the spatial background vocals, Brad Delp’s stratospheric tenor, and the abundance of hooks" (provided by Boston's main man, Tom Scholz, who had written the song back in 1981, but held onto it until they were..."Ready.")
It wasn't the last Boston song to chart, but as I mentioned above, it was their final Top 10...and certainly worthy of Great Song status!
Tomorrow: It was supposed to be a dance song...but...
