One of the smoothest soul groups to ever hit the charts was The O'Jays. They started out in 1958 in Canton, Ohio, and kicked around the music business for years with little success. But then, In 1972, just when they were thinking about calling it quits... producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff introduced them to the "Philadelphia Sound." From that point---and continuing into the 1990s--they charted dozens of songs in countries around the world. One of their best hit #4 in the U.S. in 1978. Today's "Great Song of the '70s:" Use Ta Be My Girl."
