Believe it or not, sometimes being from a famous family can make things a bit harder. In 1975, the daughter of an extremely popular singer from the 1950s was turned down by every record company she approached--until Capitol Records took a chance that paid off for everyone. Her "Great Song of the '70s" earned TWO Grammys: One for "Best New Artist" and the other for "Best R&B Performance by a Female," ending a long stretch of wins by the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. It went to #1 on the R&B chart...and #6 on the Top 100. Her dad, Nat King Cole, had passed away a decade before his daughter made it big...but it's a safe bet he would have been mighty proud!
