From late 1972 through mid 1973, Loggins and Messina released THREE "Great Songs" in a row!
The first was "Your Mama Don't Dance," which we highlighted way back on November 22, 2019: https://www.facebook.com/MichaelCuuuk/posts/105804234226366
The third was "My Music," which we highlighted back on: March 25, 2020:

Today, we're highlighting the song in the middle: "Thinking of You."
While "Mama" and "Music" were uptempo party tunes, "Thinking" was a lighthearted mid-tempo number that extolled the virtues of spending time with the one you love.
Another difference: "Thinking of You" was written solely by Jim Messina, while the other two were composed by Kenny AND Jim. In fact, Jim wrote the song for his girlfriend, and sang lead on the cut.
Maybe they should have credited the song to Messina and Loggins! :-)
In 1973, "Thinking of You" reached #7 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart and #18 on the Hot 100.
It's not very danceable like "Your Mama Don't Dance" or "My Music," but the "Greatness" lies within the cheery vibe of the song.
Enjoy!
