In 1976, "Frampton Comes Alive" was an album to be reckoned with!
Music from the album was everywhere--on the radio, in the clubs and blasting from car speakers!
It became one of the top-selling live albums of all time, stayed on the charts for 97 weeks, and was still in the Top 15 on Billboard's "Album Chart" at the end of the year.
In a 1976 Rolling Stone Magazine Reader's Poll, it was voted "Album of the Year." In 2012--36 years later--another Rolling Stone Reader's Poll ranked at as the #3 live album of all time!
The first single from the album, "Show Me the Way," was a hit in its own right, reaching the Top 10 in 7 countries, including #2 in Canada and #6 in the US. You can still hear it on classic rock stations today, and I imagine some folks are still cranking up those car speakers whenever it comes on!
