Shake Your Groove Thing - Peaches & Herb (1979) 4/25/22

Today, we're looking at a disco classic: a "Great Song" that spent 22 weeks on the charts in 1979: "Shake Your Groove Thing" by Linda Greene and Herb Fame, aka Peaches & Herb.

Actually, Linda was the third of 7 different Peaches who teamed with Herb over the years--and the most successful. (She also sang with Herb on the hit "Reunited," which we highlighted back on 3/19/20. You can read about it below.) "Shake Your Groove Thing" sold over a million copies, and was both a club and radio favorite. It was also a triple-charter: #2 on the Disco Chart, #4 on the Rhythm & Blues Chart and #5 on The Hot 100.

There's not much more to say...except "crank it up, head for the dance floor and "Shake Your Groove Thing:" It's a "Great Song of '79!"
