Rock the Boat 12/26/19

In early 1974, The Hues Corporation released a song...and nothing happened. No airplay. No sales. No nothing. But then, several months later, a break: discos in New York City started playing the song with great success...and radio soon followed.

From that point, it only took 7 weeks to hit the charts and climb all the way to #1: the very first disco song to top the Top 40! The moral of the story: Sometimes, if you want to be a "Great Song of the '70s," You gotta "Rock the Boat!"

MUSIC NERD TRIVIA: Although this song is in classic 4/4 time, there is a single measure of 3/4 in the middle of the song.
