Bad Company's Paul Rogers was a showman. He firmly believed that when people go to a concert, they should be dazzled by the music as well as the lights, atmosphere--anything that would take them away from the everyday drudgery of life in general--at least for a little while.
In short, a spectacle! Or a circus--which was suggested by the lyrics of today's "Great Song of 1979:" Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy!"
After a long 1977 tour, the members of Bad Company were exhausted, so they took two years off to recharge their batteries.
It worked.
When they came back and released "Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy" from their their 1979," it became one of their biggest sellers!"
The song itself reached #13 on Billboard's Hot 100 and #16 on Canada's Top 40..selling over a million copies overall.
"Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy:" Bad Company--Good Song. Actually, it's a "GREAT Song of 1979!"
