Happy Easter, everyone!
Today, we're highlighting a Rock/Gospel song from 1971 with a message that fits the day perfectly: "Put Your Hand in the Hand."
It's an all-Canadian creation, written by Canadian songwriter Gene MacClellan, and originally recorded by Canadian Anne Murray--although it wasn't officially released as a single.
It was, however, covered and released by the Canadian group, Ocean.
Strangely, it was a bigger hit in New Zealand and Norway, where it went to #1...and here in the US, where it reached #2. In Canada? #6.
But none of that is really important; it's the MESSAGE the song conveys.
So give it a listen, and let the lyrics be your guide.
"Put Your Hand in the Hand" by Ocean: A "Great Song of 1971," and a message for all time!
