What do actress Ellen Foley ("Night Court"), guitarist Todd Rundgren, Saxophonist Edgar Winter, Drummer Max Weinberg and MLB Hall-of-Fame shortstop Phil Rizzuto have in common? Meat Loaf!
In 1977, Marvin Aday (Meat Loaf) released his "Bat Out of Hell" Album...and the hits just kept on coming: "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad," "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth," and the song that club jocks all over the world played over and over again for years. Yes, it was released as a single---but the song was way too long to fit on a 45 RPM record, so it had to be severely edited, and it tanked. It's the album version that will live infamy!
Jim Steinman wrote it and the all-star cast listed above, told the story--in pretty graphic detail. People would literally SCREAM when a club DJ would play this "Great Song of the '70s!"
