In July of 1974, Carole King's album "Wrap Around Joy" was released, and the immediate hit single was "Jazzman," which we highlighted way back on November 11, 2019. You can read my post about it here: https://www.facebook.com/cuuuk/posts/10156391058152035
At the tail end of the year, (December 17th, to be exact), the second single was released, and by the time March of '75 rolled around, "Nightingale" had already proven to be a "Great Song of the '70s."
Billboard Magazine correctly predicted it would be a hit, citing Carole's "fine, soft melodies set off by her distinctive vocalizing."
TRIVIA: The background vocals on the song were provided by Carole's daughters Louise and Sherry Goffin, who were 14 and 12 at the time!
"Nightingale:" A family affair for Carole King, and a "Great Song of 1975!"
