The group Bloodstone released a number of songs during the '70s, many of which reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Soul Chart.
Their very first hit, however, also reached Top 10 on the Hot 100 in 1973.
"Natural High" was a 1950s style slow dance, featuring intricate harmonies and lush instrumentation, with a mid-tempo switch near the end.
It was the first--and last--time Bloodstone got anywhere near the Top 30 on the Hot 100, but "Natural High" certainly qualifies as a "Great Song of 1973!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0KzLo0-6Ro
