Between 1970 and 1977, Bread had 13 hit records--almost all of them beautiful ballads--but would you believe they only had ONE #1 song?
Believe it or not, it was their very first chart hit: 1970's "Make it With You."
Oddly enough, the whole group didn't even play on the song. Just singer/guitarist David Gates and drummer Mike Botts, backed by an orchestra. But that was enough!
In addition to hitting #1 in the US, it was a Top 10 hit in 5 other countries, including Canada, where it went to #2...and the UK, where it reached #5.
