When Belinda Carlisle left The Go-Gos for a solo career in 1986, she didn't leave them very far behind.
In fact, Belinda's first single from her self-titled solo debut album, "Mad About You" was co-written by Go-Gos' bassist Paula Jean Brown (who had replaced Jane Weidlin in the group) and featured background vocals by Go-Go Charlotte Caffey,
Trivia #1: "Mad About You" was one of the very first singles to be released only on CD.
Trivia #2: Andy Taylor of Duran Duran played the guitar solo.
Trivia #3: Andy is featured in the video, and so is Belinda's brand new (and still) husband, Morgan Mason (son of actor James Mason).
"Mad About You" went to #`1 in Canada, and reached #3 on Billboard's Hot 100.
All in all, it was an impressive solo debut for Belinda Carlisle, thanks to a little help from her friends--and husband.
