I'll give you 3 guesses as to what inspired today's HARD ROCKIN' Great Song of 1989: "Love in an Elevator" by Aerosmith--and the first 2 don't count.
Lead singer Stephen Tyler, who wrote the song with guitarist Joe Perry, claims it's autobiographical. He was in an elevator going at it hot and heavy with a girl...when the doors opened...and well, EVERYONE was embarrassed. He said, and I quote: "It seemed like a lifetime before those doors closed."
Ahh, the life of a rock star.
The song was a big hit here in the US, topping Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart and reaching #5 on the Hot 100.
As suggestive as the song was, it was flat out blatant when Aerosmith performed it in concert--and their fans loved it! (Click the LIVE link below--if you dare.)
Trivia: At Disneyworld, several Aerosmith songs are featured on their "Rock & Roller Coaster--including a G-rated version of "Love on a...Rollercoaster." (Of course!)
