Keep It Comin' Love - KC & The Sunshine Band (1977) 3/15/22

In late 1976, Harry Wayne Casey and Rick Finch of KC and the Sunshine released the band's 4th album "Part 3."

It's obvious they had a sense of humor...and it was also obvious that KC & Rick continued to have their fingers on the pulse of mid-70s disco music. "Keep It Comin' Love" was not only a "Great Dance Song," it was the third #1 song from the album, and their 5th overall in two years. (The others were, in order: "Get Down Tonight," "That's the Way I Like It," "Shake, Shake Shake (Your Booty)" and "I'm Your Boogie Man," all of which we've already highlighted. Check out the links at the bottom of this post). In 1977, "Keep it Comin' Love" went to #1 on Billboard's Soul Chart and #2 on the Hot 100 (stalling out just short of the top--thanks to Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life" juggernaut. In Canada, however, it topped the Dance Chart AND the Top 40, while clocking in at #4 on the Adult Contemporary Chart. Like the other four #1s before it, "Keep It Comin' Love" was a certified disco floor filler--which, of course, I can personally attest to. Most music critics at the time agreed that the danceable beat and the suggestive lyrics were the secrets to the song's success. In any event, "Keep It Comin' Love" by KC and the Sunshine Band became a "Great Song of the 70s!"
