Jimmy Buffett Tribute (9/3/23)

No disrespect intended, but I certainly hope that Jimmy Buffett is enjoying a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" right about now.

The singer beloved to Parrotheads everywhere, passed away yesterday at the age of 76.

Over the past 4 years, I've highlighted MOST of Jimmy's hits, from "Come Monday" to Margaritaville" to the aforementioned "Cheeseburger in Paradise."

But I missed one of his best from the '70s: 1977's "Changes in Latitudes/Changes in Attitudes" from the album of the same name.

"Margaritaville" was also on that album, and was Jimmy's biggest hit, but "Attitudes" featured the same sort of tropical flavor, and was a hit in its own right, reaching #11 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart, and solid #24 on the Country chart.

Cashbox Magazine called the song "philosophical," while Record World called it "lighthearted and ironic." Jimmy's fans fell in love with it, and he would return the love by playing the song at virtually every concert for the rest of his life.

"Changes is Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes:" a Great Song of the '70s by the late, great Jimmy Buffett. Rest in Peace, sir. Save us a seat at the bar.

Note: Check the links below for ALL of Jimmy's biggest hits... including "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere, his 2003 duet with Alan Jackson: a #1 hit on Billboard's Country Chart...and #17 on the Hot 100!

Tomorrow: Mac's back in the Top 10!
