After spending most of the '60s writing great songs with her husband Gerry Goffin (i.e: "Up on the Roof" for the Drifters, "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" for The Shirelles, and most notably, "Natural Woman" for Aretha Franklin), Carole King got divorced, moved from NYC to LA and started the new decade writing for herself. Her "Tapestry" album was ground-breaking, with songs like "It's Too Late" (#1) and "So far Away" (#14). Her follow-up LP, "Wrap Around Joy" also yielded a Top 10 hit, featuring Tom Scott wailing away on the sax.
