In the Mid '70s, you could find the Seals Brothers all over the charts...but not together.
And not as solo artists, either.
Jim Seals teamed up with Dash Crofts and charted big time with songs like “Summer Breeze,” (which we may highlight at a later date).
Dan Seals teamed up with John Ford Coley for hits like today's “Great Song of the '70s.”
Of course, Dan Seals called himself “England Dan,” because...well...people would have been confused:Seals & Crofts? Seals & Coley?
To be honest, both pairs had a similar sound, so avoiding similar names was a good idea.
Anyway, in 1976, Dan & John charted big time with their song, “I'd Really Love to See You Tonight.” It was a #1 hit in the US on Billboard's Easy Listening Chart and Canada's Adult Contemporary Chart. On the Top 40 Charts, it was #2 in the US and #1 in Canada.
And that SEALS the deal when it comes to a “Great Song of the '70s! See what I did there? :-)
