How Do You Do - Mouth & MacNeal (1972)

n researching today's "Great Song of 1972, I wasn't surprised to learn the artists were Dutch. What DID surprise me, however, was the fact that over the years, quite a few Dutch Acts have made made Billboard's Hot 100...especially in the '70s.

Those that cracked the Top 10 during the decade were:

The Shocking Blue ("Venus" #1 1970) Tee Set ("Ma Belle Amie" #5 1970) Focus ("Hocus Pocus" #9 1973)

Today, the "Great Song" spotlight falls on the OTHER Top 10 Dutch Song of the Decade: 1972's "How Do You Do" by Mouth & MacNeal.

This quirky little import was a worldwide hit, reaching #1 in 5 countries, as well as #2 in Canada...and #8 in the US--spending an impressive 19 weeks on the Hot 100 in the process! In fact, Mouth & MacNeal sold more copies of "How Do You Do" worldwide than any other group in 1972.

Do you remember it? Give it a listen. It may be quirky, but in the end, it's really a "Great Song of 1972!"
