Anyone who listened to the radio—or watched MTV—in the '80s is well aware of the incredible amount of hard-rockin' hits released by the female dynamo known as Pat Benatar!
But did you know that Pat's first hit was a "Great Song of the '70s?"
“Heartbreaker” was the third single released from her debut album, and the first to crack the Hot 100, reaching #23 in late '79. In Canada, it peaked at #16.
But even more importantly, it spent 4 and half MONTHS on the chart! By the time March of 1980 rolled around, it had also reached #13 on the Tunecasters Rock Tracks Chart (used by many album rock stations).
And the song has never faded away! VH-1 has it listed at #72 on their list of the “Best Hard Rock Songs of All Time,” and it's available on video games like “Rock Band” And “Guitar Hero World Tour!”
“Heartbreaker:” a Great start for a Great star...and a “Great Song of 1979!
