You may not remember this, but the first brother to leave the Jackson Five was NOT Michael.
In early 1976, the brothers left Motown for Epic records, but Jermaine stayed behind to marry Hazel Gordy, daughter of Motown founder Berry Gordy, Jr, and to start his own solo career...which was actually quite successful, especially throughout the '80s.
But the rest of the brothers, with Michael still in tow and adding youngest brother Randy to the mix...almost immediately came up with a "Great Song" for their new label.
As 1976 crossed over into 1977, "Enjoy Yourself," featuring vocals by Michael and Jackie, was riding high on two Billboard Charts: #2 on the Soul Chart and #6 on the Hot 100, selling more than two million copies in the process.
They also recorded a video of the song that garnered a lot of attention. (See it below!)
Obviously, the Jacksons were enjoying themselves with another hit on their list of "Great Songs of the '70s!
