Disco Inferno (1978) 2/27/20

Updated: Feb 26, 2020

1977 was the year of the Bee Gees and Saturday Night Fever!

But sometimes it's hard to remember that there were a few songs on the soundtrack that were NOT written, produced and/or sung by the Brothers Gibb.

Like today's "Great Song of the '70s!”!

"Disco Inferno" was written byRon Kersey and Leroy Green of The Trammps, who originally released it in 1976 and watched it climb to #1 on Billboard's Dance chart. It did not, however, garner any mainstream success until it was re-released on the soundtrack in 1977...and then as a single in 1978.

Propelled by the HUGE success of "All Things Fever," the song went to #11 in the US and #6 in Canada.

But even more impressive: In 2005, "Disco Inferno" was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame!

From 1976, 77 and 78:
