Dance With Me (1978) 11/21/20

We haven't been to the disco for a while, so I thought we'd head back to 1978 for a “Great Song” that we played at all the clubs...but pretty much got ZERO airplay on Western Wisconsin radio stations—except on Casey Kasem's “American Top 40.”

And it's not like the song was obscure at the time. The charts show it was a NATIONAL Top 10 hit on 3 of Billboard's charts: #4 on the Disco Chart, #5 on the Soul Chart and #8 on the Hot 100.

“Dance With Me” by Peter Brown (not to be confused with the Orleans song with the same title), was clever and fun to dance to. Background vocals by Betty Wright added to the song immensely.

I don't have much else to say about it, except that if you've never heard it...you should listen to it with your speakers turned up, and see if you don't agree that it's a “Great Dance Song of the '70s!” This old disco DJ certainly thinks so!
