Country Boy (You've Got Your Feet in L.A) - Glen Campbell (1976) 9/8/21

Two singles were released from Glen Campbell's 1975 album, "Rhinestone Cowboy," and it seems like somewhere between the first in 1975 and the second in 1976, Glen had gone from someone who was striving to "make it big" to someone who already had, but was missing the life he left behind.

Of course, the title track was the first release, and we highlighted "Rhinestone Cowboy" back on 2/24/20: https://www.facebook.com/MichaelCuuuk/posts/152396502900472

So today, we're looking at the second release: "Country Boy (You've Got Your Feet in L.A.)."

Glen's career was really taking off. His songs were consistently crossing over from country to pop, and "Country Boy" was no exception.

In fact, it performed just a tiny bit better on the Adult Contemporary Charts (#1 in both the US & Canada), than it did on the Country Charts (#1 in Canada and #3 in the US). For the record, it was also #9 on Canada's Top 40 and #11 on Billboard's Hot 100.

But what those chart positions REALLY show is that "Country Boy (You've Got Your Feet in L.A.)" was a hit with ALL audiences--making it a "Great Song of 1976!
