Three Dog Night's 1969 album, "Suitable for Framing" contained two "Great Songs of the '60s--and today's "Great Song of 1970!
The first was "Easy to be Hard" from the Broadway musical "Hair: #4 on Billboard's Hot 100, and the second was "Eli's Coming," which climbed to #10.
Crossing into the new decade, they released "Celebrate," and although it missed the Top 10, peaking at #15, it was the PERFECT song for New Year's Eve and other celebrations!
It's pretty catchy, too--especially when they start chanting "Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the Music!" It's hard NOT to clap along. :-)
And here's something that might surprise you: the backing instrumental track features the horn section from an up and coming band called Chicago (Transit Authority)!
So here's to 2023...may it be a better year for us all!
