Some sad news today" B.J. Thomas has died at the age of 78.
As always, when a musical icon of the 70s passes away, I defer to Variety Magazine for the obituary:

B.J. started his own personal "hit list" back in 1968 with his version of Hank Williams Sr.'s "I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry" (#8 on the Hot 100), and ending in 1988 with his duet with Dusty Springfield on"As Long As We've Got Each Other" (The Theme from TV's' "Growing Pains: (#7 on the Adult Contemporary Chart).
His biggest hits, however, came in the '70s, and we've already highlighted most of his "Great Songs" from that decade:
"Raindrops keep Falling On My Head:"

"I Just Can't Help Believing:"

"Rock & Roll Lullaby:"

"Another Done Somebody Wrong Song:"

But I hadn't gotten around to highlighting B.J's last "Great Song of the '70s:" his 1977 cover version of the Beach Boys' hit, "Don't Worry Baby."
B.J. put his own spin on a song that was already a classic, and drove it all the way to #2 on the A.C Chart!"
B.J. Thomas: Rock & Roll Heaven just inducted a new member, but not before he left us with a long list of "Great Songs!
