Ann Wilson was furious. As a publicity stunt, her record company, Mushroom Records, released a "fake news" story about the "incestuous relationship" she was having with her sister, Nancy. She was completely unaware of it until a fan approached her after a Heart concert and asked her about it. She was so angry, she immediately went back to her hotel room and wrote the lyrics to today's "Great Song of the '70s!"

One ugly thing led to another: Negotiations for a new record contract were called off, and Heart scrapped an uncompleted album that Mushroom released anyway!

Now EVERYONE was angry: Ann, Nancy, the other band members, and band manager Michael Fisher. But they got even. They signed with Portrait Records, finished the song and made it the first release from their new Portrait album: "Little Queen."

In 1977, the song went to #1 in South Africa, #2 in Canada and #11 in the U.S. VH-1 has it on their list of "Greatest Hard Rock Songs of All Time." Its title refers to everyone Heart worked with at Mushroom--from the local promotion man to the president of the company.

The moral of the story: Don't piss off Ann Wilson!
