Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor Doctor) (19/79) 7/21/21

In 1978, an artist by the name of Moon Martin wrote and recorded what turned out to be a "Great Song of 1979!"

For Robert Palmer.

Here's how it happened:

Moon's original version of "Bad Case of Loving You" was released in several countries with very little success.

A few months later, Robert Palmer was traveling to a gig when a rep from his record label (Island) played it for him and asked what he thought.

Well, Robert liked it...a lot. He added it to his concerts and when he recorded his 1979 album, "Secrets," including it was a no-brainer!

When it was released as a single, "Bad Case of Loving You" went straight to #1--in Canada. In the US, it reached #14 on the Hot 100.

In the years since, the song has become a classic rock radio staple in both countries, and is still one of those songs that makes you want to crank up the volume on the car radio and risk getting a speeding ticket!
