All I Ever Need is You (1971) 7/3/20

Before today, if I asked you to name Sonny & Cher's best-selling hit, told you it was a “Great Song of the '70s, and gave you a bunch of other clues, could you name it? Let's see:

#1: It sold over 2.25 MILLION copies, more than TWICE the amount of their most recognizable hit, “I Got You, Babe” from 1965.

#2: In 1971, the song spent 5 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Easy Listening Chart, and reached #7 on the Hot 100. It was also a Top 10 hit in Canada and the UK. #3: It was originally recorded by Ray Charles, but wasn't released as a single. #4: In 1979, it was covered by Kenny Rogers and Dottie West, who took it to #1 on Billboard's Country Chart, making it a “Great COUNTRY Song of the '70s as well.
